Shake on the Lake is taking Shakespeare’s Henry V on the road to two states this summer – catch Shake on the road in Arkansas and New York State!

Henry V will be performed in Shake on the Lake’s signature style: fun, fast, and physical.  5 actors will portray nearly 40 characters in a new, audience-engaging adaptation that includes original music from Matt Duncan, Chad Bradford, Tim Cooper, and the rest of the cast. Shake on the Lake Theatre Company (SOTL) is based in Perry, New York; however, the company has many Arkansas connections.

Josh Rice, the founder and Producing Artistic Director, is a respected artist with credits from all over the world, but he started his acting career at the Children’s Theatre at AMFA and later played notable parts and directed for Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre.  Chad Bradford, the show’s director and Associate Director of Children’s Theatre and Performing Arts at AMFA, also boasts national and Off-Broadway credits and has worked with Shake on the Lake and AST for over a decade.

Arkansas Tour

Shake on the Lake is collaborating with Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre (where many Shake artists got their start) to bring the show to Conway and Russellville, including a stop for Arkansas Governor’s School students. AST shows are sponsored by Snap On Tools and the Conway A&P Commission. Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre is now an independently-operated company, led by Mary Ruth Stewart.

Shake on the Lake is also partnering with Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts – AMFA to produce the show in Little Rock on July 12th at 6:30 pm and July 13th at 2:00 pm. Shake on the Lake is partnering with the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Tech (UAPTC) as an educational partner.  In addition to working with a student intern from UAPTC, Shake on the Lake will be working with their theatre department in the fall to create a staged reading and other activities.
